The Tenant Journey

Maylark has a clear and transparent procedure to help prospective tenants to secure and move into a property:

When you see a property you like, firstly call or email us to arrange a viewing at a time which is convenient to you.

If you are interested in the property then we will work with you and discuss your offer with the landlord. The landlord’s acceptance of the offer will trigger referencing which involves you completing an online form accessed via a link which will be emailed to you. The referencing process is performed by Tenref and can take up to a few days depending on access to information and feedback.

Occasionally referencing feedback may recommend a guarantor; in these instances we will discuss your options with you and if you choose to proceed we will initiate the referencing of your guarantor.

On receipt of a positive reference we will then arrange a date for you to check-in to the property and draw up your tenancy agreement for signing. At this stage we will also require the deposit, the first month’s rent and a standing order to be set-up for future rental payments.

On completion of the above you’re all set to move in!

Nil Deposit Scheme

Finding a deposit when you’re moving into a new rental home can be tough. The Nil Deposit Scheme provides an alternative to the traditional deposit.
